A forklift to be a successful model should be built strong to last the working environments for many hours of use. It needs to be able to transport loads quickly and effectively too. The machine should also be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator.
The Yale powertrain is reliable and rugged. It has to be powerful enough to continually provide incredible strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and extremely tough shafts. The steer axle, drive, transmission and engine are all isolated to reduce noise and vibration inside of the operator's compartment.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These equipment provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that needs minimum adjustment or repair. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which lessen wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all machines. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that provide resistance when driving on rough terrain. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching that adjusts automatically so as to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to eliminate shock loading, increase durability and extend the life of the tires. In addition, the auto deceleration feature lessens both break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is engineered for added strength with its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are entirely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add extra durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. In addition, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included many safety features and ergonomic features. These equipment will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
